Results vary depending on how you’re using it, but I find when I use Avène's Thermal Spring Water to lớn sandwich my skincare products, my skin looks so juicy and hydrated. The mist itself is super fine, so I love the freshness it brings lớn a finished makeup look as well. It also provides the perfect amount of moisture if you need to lớn re-blend your makeup amidst a long day, but don't want to start over at square one. For this, simply mist the product all over và use a blender to lớn nix creasing and push foundation back into the skin.

Also, because of the unique mineral composition, I find this mist is really calming and works lớn take redness out of the skin. Definitely gọi on it next time you’ve overdone it on actives (because we’ve all been there).

The Value: Totally worth it

Honestly, I can’t fault this product and use it multiple times a day, so in my eyes, it’s 100 percent worth it. One of the great things about French pharmacy skincare as well is that it’s reasonably priced, so you won’t have to throw down a lot of cash to lớn experience the magic for yourself. While regular tap water will suffice for some of the purposes Avène's Thermal Spring Water addresses, I find that the combination of its refreshing experience and its soothing properties make this sản phẩm hard lớn beat.

Similar Products: You've got options

Evian Brumisateur Natural Mineral Water Facial Spray: It really doesn"t get more luxurious than Evian water in a can ($14). It’s not from the south of France, but the hàng hóa does have a similar fresh finish.

La Roche-Posay Thermal Spring Water: This worthy French contender ($14) boasts a similar mineral-rich formula, albeit from a different spring. With its similarly accessible price, you can try out both this one and Avène"s and see which one you like best.

La Roche-Posay Serozinc Face Toner: Oily and acne-prone skin types might prefer this zinc-rich mist ($14), as it’s known lớn regulate shine và give the complexion a soft, matte finish.

Final Verdict

If you haven’t picked up what I’m putting down by now, let me reiterate that I love Avène's Thermal Spring Water mist. It’s lượt thích the Mac
Gyver of skincare that can enhance any part of your routine và work with just about any skin type or concern. This is a forever staple in my beauty cabinet, for sure.

What They Say: “A naturally soothing source for sensitive skin since 1743, Avène Thermal Spring Water’s chất lượng composition is clinically shown by over 150 studies to calm, soothe and soften the skin. Ideal for red, sensitive or irritated skin and perfect for post-workout, travel, outdoor activities or to lớn freshen up makeup.”

What We Say: This is not a necessary purchase.

The Review: I’m sorry, this is just a ridiculous thing. Part of me is like: There are people who like parasols, there are people who think contouring is a makeup technique worth exploring—there is a whole world of people who bởi not like things exactly the way that you do, & those things include carrying around a small bottle of water not for drinking but to lớn spray on oneself every once in a while, và we should all be không tính phí to enjoy these things. But the other part of me is This is utterly dumb.

Every summer for a week or so (#climatechange) Paris gets well into the upper-90s, và you’ll start seeing bottles of Avène spring water show up on café tables. (I am convinced that the water-owners are uniformly American, but I cannot prove this.) Just in case! Just in case you’re so hot you actually need lớn spray yourself with water khổng lồ cool down. Now here’s the thing: Last week, it was 98 degrees in Paris, and I kept this bottle next khổng lồ me for 12 hours straight—just lớn see how the other half lived. When I was hot, I sprayed myself. I had walked 16 miles the day before (don’t ask, I have no idea), và some of the skin on my leg was irritated from chafing against the seam of my jeans, so I sprayed that. I worked out, and sprayed myself. I misted myself regularly.

BUY IT HERE: AVENE THERMAL SPRING WATER: $9

Here is what I found: At least over the course of a half-day’s application, Avène Thermal Spring Water did not soothe my irritated skin. It made it wet, which seemed khổng lồ irritate it even more, until it dried. Avène Thermal Spring Water did nothing except deposit water on khổng lồ my skin, which promptly dried. If there was a moment’s satisfaction in the moment when the cool water hit my hot skin, I bởi vì not remember it, which is lớn say it was less satisfying than the bowl of acai và granola I had earlier that morning, because I bởi remember that, và it was delicious.

The one thing I will say is that the nozzle thiết kế is amazing. I used khổng lồ work next lớn someone who would have loved Avène Thermal Spring Water. She was the sort of person who absolutely did need to mist herself on the regular, but all she had was, like, a plant spritzer filled with water. Every once in a while she would spray me from her desk (she was. So. Fun!) & it reminded me of the worst little kid on the street, & his water gun. This was not like that: The spray was immensely fine. It was like walking into the sweetest, finest, coolest mist you can imagine. That part was wonderful.

Here is the thing: Generally I don’t think people should reviews things they categorically don’t like. Like, if you don’t enjoy death metal, vì chưng not be a death metal critic. What I am saying is that I am, categorically, against the category of spring-water misters, because if you are really that hot, either get take a shower or go to a water park. That said, within the category of spring-water misters, Avène must offer one of the best, because the nozzle design is basically space age. So if you’re going to lớn carry around a spring-water mister, carry this one. But don’t.
